Sargavan Guard – Kolyat has spent much of the past seven years traveling along trade roads. Protecting caravans and securing trade with the natives. He has grown used to wearing armor everyday in the sweltering jungle, and as such it impedes him less. Reduce Armor Check Penalty by one.
Abadar’s Enforcer – Kolyat has drilled himself extensively in the use of a heavy crossbow, and has received special training from Abadaran priests. Kolyat treats the Heavy Crossbow as Abadar’s favored weapon instead of a light crossbow.
Where I Got My Gear:
Metamagic Rod- A magic rod in the shape of a large gold key. Given to Kolyat to mark his ascension of rank in the Church of Abadar.
Heavy Crossbow- For the early part of his days in the church, Kolyat used a light crossbow like many other acolytes. However during his second outing into the jungles to escort a trade caravan, they were set upon by a jungle troll. Kolyat’s crossbow was smashed in the battle, and he was hurled into one of the wagons. However Abadar smiled upon his priest. Inside of the wagon was this crossbow, a mean-looking piece of machinery of Alkenstar design. A lucky shot to the troll’s head and a some quick work with a torch saved the caravan. Kolyat was quite taken with the weapon, buying it off the merchant… for a greatly reduced price. Kolyat casts Greater Magic Weapon on it daily, imbuing it with power from the First Vault, and in combat the crossbow’s gears and machinery seem to work on their own in order to assist their master. Kolyat calls her Veera.
Wayfinder- On this expedition, Kolyat has been guarding the caravan while the scouting party cleared the path ahead. However the road has not been entirely free of danger. One night the caravan was set upon by a flying lizard, which snatched up a member of the Pathfinders. Kolyat loosed a shot in the dark at the flying beast, however it did not release its quarry. Both fell to earth with a sickening crunch. Kolyat was gifted the dead Pathfinder’s wayfinder, as it’s ability to create light would hopefully give him better aim in the future… those cool words have left Kolyat very disturbed, and he then discovered that his bolt had punched through the Pathfinder before hitting the lizard. Kolyat is still taking this very hard, and he wears the wayfinder openly on his belt, as a mark of shame and of the debt he feels he still owes the Pathfinders.
Helmet of Comprehend Languages and Read Magic – A strange mask discovered on the corpse of a Zenj male. When Kolyat removed the magic mask, the man rose from the ground as a zombie… however he quickly fell before the channeled might of Abadar. The mask’s magical properties have proven invaluable to Kolyat, who constantly has it on his person.
